I just had a quick look into the Etsy forum. Cindylouwho2 posted that as of yesterday the Hearts for Haiti shop has raised $ 33,311.60 for Doctors without Borders!!!! Isn't that amazing??
Cindylouwho2 has also announced that those donated items not being sold will be removed from the shop as soon as they expire. The first items are going to expire today :-(
There are still more than 1,000 items in the shop for sale. Please do me a favour and check it out now, get some nice things for you or your family or friends and support the people of Haiti who still need every help we can give.
In February I presented you some of my favourite items for the home and some of my favourite jewellery.
Most of these items are still available. The coasters have gone (:-):-) - guess what?) and so has the Sterling Silver heart necklace (the one with the small key - the embossed one is still for sale!!). All the other gorgeous pieces are still waiting for you! Remember - shipping is free!

Ranunculus on Show
I'm still using the surf stick to connect to the internet. It's not fun. During the day the connection is extremely slowly and it is interrupted again and again. So I'm currently trying to work on the most important things very early in the morning.
What a nice surprise this morning!
Naomi from Moonangelnay.etsy.com created a Mother's Day treasury on her own blog featuring some gorgeous Etsy sellers - including me :-) It's a lovely treasury with pinks and greys. Check it out!
Thank you Naomi! Your blog is lovely. You've got a new follower ♥

Back Again - and Food for Thought
Due to a technical problem I was unable to connect to the internet for two months now. The problem isn't solved yet but, as an interim solution I'm using a surf stick now. I would have done earlier – if I would have known about this possibility.
Living without the internet - what a nightmare! I've been using it for everything. Need a weather forecast? Click on wetter.com to see how far away the rain clouds are. Want to pay a bill? Click on my bank account. What was the exact name of that mock-orange with the yellow leaves? Ask Google. How much flour for that special dough? Click on my blog. The telephone number of a company? Ask the online telephone book.
I even had forgotten that there is a hard copy of a telephone book on my board and that a bank statement can be printed at the cash machine. I have lots of cookery and gardening books but, I've accustomed myself to have a quick look through my favourite sites.
Yesterday evening I used the surf stick for the first time. Since then I'm working on several hundreds of emails, have updated my ETSY shop and will go on doing so with all my other stuff. It may take quite a while and I apologise to everybody who may have been wondering where the hell I am.
But – every cloud has a silver lining. I've spent much more time in my garden and the result is fairly good. I've re-organised two rooms completely (but I did not have my blog in mind and forgot to take 'before'-photos!!!).
I'm wondering now whether it's really wise to commit so much to things like the internet. There was a life before the WWW and it wasn't bad. Back to basics? Yes - at least a little bit.

Hearts for Haiti - Something for Your Home
Today I'll show you some of my favourites from the HeartsforHaiti shop's section 'For Your Home'. Clicking on the picture will lead you to the article directly.
Let's start with these fresh cotton canvas coasters. Four of them come with their own pouch. Donated by CinnamonBreeze:
This is one of the most impressive ideas I've ever come across: a chandelier made of - guess what? - paperclips!!! These ordinary small thingies lying around everywhere in every office. I couldn't believe it and got the tutorial from super kind donator ReDesignTechnologies through the HeartsforHaiti shop. I haven't yet started with my chandelier but I will. It's not as difficult as it may seem. You can do this, too!

A metal salvaged light switch plate brought to new life with a vintage black and white image, donated by littlegreenthings:
The last item for today is a cute vintage linen pillow cover with a new layered burlap flower, donated by myadobecottage:

Hearts for Haiti - Fundraising on Etsy
I'm owing you this since some time already. Although it may be a good idea to bring it now with the disaster in Haiti having disappeared from the front pages already.
There are lots of sellers on Etsy donating percentages of their proceeds to help Haiti. You will find them easily, if you search for 'Haiti'.
I want to recommend warmly especially this shop to you: HeartsforHaiti.
Victoria aka exlibrishandmade had the idea and started organising this shop entirely dedicated to raise money for helping Haiti. 100% of the shop proceeds (minus Etsy and PayPal fees) go to Doctors Without Borders.
